@indydocumenters @mirrorindy President Tribble opened the meeting giving praise to the Wayne community and library for hosting tonight's meeting. The food pantry is shining star of the branch.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Branch Manager's Report is being presented by Ms. Melinda Mullican, Wayne Branch Manager. Here is a video talking about staffing and the population served.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Dr. Palacio asked how many students does the branch see? 100+ students throughout the day in different age groups was Mullican's response.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Teen programs include DND every other week. There are craft workshops as well. Mullican couldn't give an exact number of teen programs, but that teen engagement is a focus of the Wayne Branch.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy There were 30 hotspots in the branch with 10 available. That's due to breaks and those that don't get returned.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Public Comment - Torres speaks on the impact of the social worker on library patrons as she leaves her post with the library. He recounts many of stories of her going above and beyond for patrons and their reliance on Yanna McGraw, the 1st social worker in IndyPL history.

@indydocumenters @mirrorindy That motion carried. Next upResolution 66 - 2024 (Transfer Between Classifications and Accounts)
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Resolution 67 - 2024 (Data Axle Reference Solution Subscription Database Renewal). The database provides many services one of which provides market data for those going into business and want to see what's happening with their competitors.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Diversity, Policy and Human Resources Committee (Mr. Raymond J. Biederman, Chair; Dr. Luis A. Palacio, Dr. Patricia A. Payne) a. Resolution 68 - 2024 (Approval of Additional Payments to Employees for Year End). This is a nice bonus for the holidays for employees!

@indydocumenters @mirrorindy Additional slides on this resolution
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy $900-950k was saved from the prior budget to fund this phase. Minimal demolition will be involved. Air quality will be maintained with stringent steps for filtration. These answers were promoted by questions from Palacio. There won't be any upgrades to book drop drive-up.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy There is no guarantee these upgrades will affect the acoustics, but the discussion and testing have led to the changes going forward. Color scheme is still up for conversation.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy President Tribble believes it's important that we get more assurance that results are worth the money spent and we possibly have some performance measures in place if possible.
@indydocumenters @mirrorindy This resolution is getting the most scrutiny and you may be able to guess why based on the budget and no true way to figure out the success of the project.
